Apple strudel, a glorious Austrian dessert, actually has Turkish-Arabic origins: it is considered the heir to baclavà, a speciality consisting of 40 very thin sheets of filo pastry, roasted and chopped walnuts and sugar syrup. When it arrived in Hungary in 1500, its filling was modified: apples, typical of the area, took the place of walnuts. It is not difficult to make and gives a wonderful aroma that intoxicates the kitchen, so follow the recipe from Alpe Pragas and have fun making it yourself.
